About the Program
The BA in Film Studies gives students a robust background in film history, theory, and analysis, preparing students for graduate-level work in film and media studies or for filmmaking careers. Integrating interdisciplinary perspectives into the coursework, the department focuses on the study of the moving image as a multicultural and transnational artistic discipline.
Focus of Study
Students in the BA program complete core work in film theory and practice, including analysis of national schools, directors, and genres, and can tailor their program to their own interests through electives. Students also complete interdisciplinary work from across the programs in Visual & Performing Arts to augment their studies.
