About the Program

       The Film Studies minor enriches many academic subjects and majors with its critical and multicultural exploration of cinematic expression.


Focus of Study

       Students in the Film Studies minor receive a foundation in film studies and narrative film and may select from a broad range of electives to complete the minor, enabling them to focus their studies to best suit their academic or career goals.


Program Requirements

    The Minor requires

  • Minimum of 18 credit hours of coursework in FILM
  • 12 credit hours must be upper-division coursework (3000-4999 level)
  • All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better to count toward the minor
  • Residency: Last 9 credit hours of the minor must be completed while registered at UCCS

NOTE: Speak with an academic advisor to declare a minor.

Core requirements (6 credit hours)

  • FILM 1000 - Introduction to Film Studies
  • FILM 2000 - Narrative Film

Upper-division Electives (12 credit hours)
