Timothy Davis is a pianist with the USAF Academy Band. He is also the Non Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Air Force performing group Blue Delta. Born in Panama City, FL and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Davis began studying piano at the age of four, and progressed quickly. By age 10 he was performing throughout the southeast and competing in several state and national level competitions.
Davis attended the University of Alabama from 2005-2009, studying Piano Performance under the tutelage of the late Amanda Penick. He also pursued Jazz Studies under talented guitarist and ensemble leader Tom Wolfe. In 2011, Davis auditioned and won a position as a pianist with the Band of the United States Air Force Reserve. He remained in the regional band career field from September 2011 till July 2021. In March of 2021, Davis won his position with the USAF Academy band. His recent accolades include being a recipient of the Col. Findlay Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award, and the 2021 CMSgt Morrell Media Award for Best Live Recording for his composition “Ring the Bells”.
