About the Program
The Department of Visual & Performing Arts - Theatre Program offers a minor in Theatre to complement other degree programs both within VAPA and across the curriculum.
Focus of Study
The Theatre Minor gives students a basic technical, practical, and historical introduction to theatrical arts.
Program Requirements
- 18 credit hours of THTR coursework, 9 of which must be upper-division (3000+ level).
- All courses must be completed with a grade of C- or better.

Theatre History | 3 Credit Hours | Complete one of the following theatre history courses:
Note: THTR 3220, 3240, 3960, 3970, or 3980 may be taken instead of THTR 3201 or 3202 with director approval. |
Practicum Courses | 6 Credit Hours | Participate in three productions, in at least two of the following areas, for a total of 3 credit hours:
Complete 3 credit hours of elective upper-division (3000+ level) THTR coursework. The listed Practicum courses will not count towards this requirement. |
