  • LAS offers 23 Bachelor’s degrees, 10 Master’s Degrees, and two Ph.D. degrees
  • Students can choose from 19 majors and 53 minors in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences
  • 15 certificate and 7 pre-professional programs are available

Core Focus on Student Success

  • LAS’s mission is to help students become successful in their academic, professional, and personal lives
  • Courses focus on training in critical thinking and problem solving, analytical reasoning, effective speaking, and persuasive writing—all highly marketable skills that translate well into a variety of professions
  • Students in pre-professional programs such as pre-medicine or pre-law boast an outstanding acceptance rate to some of the nation’s top law and medical schools

Dynamic Learning Opportunities

  • Variety of in-class, online, and hybrid courses are offered
  • International and domestic exchange programs are available through  National Student Exchange and Education Abroad
  • Established community partnerships for Service Learning, Internships, and Community Engagement (SLICE of LAS)
  • UCCSTeach is a collaborative program shared by the College of Education and the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences. UCCSTeach offers undergraduate university students the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree in mathematics or science and a secondary teaching license in four years.

  • Faculty-student research is encouraged and supported by awards to students and their faculty mentors
  • Opportunities to present at the Colorado Springs Undergraduate Research Forum (CSURF) 
  • Internships give you opportunities to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in your professional field
