About
Caitlin Lowans (they/she) just began a third year as Artistic Director of Theatreworks Colorado Springs, the professional theatre in residence at UCCS. Caitlin is a New Englander, most recently based in Chicago where they pursued an MFA in Directing at Northwestern University. Previously, Caitlin served as associate artistic director and director of education at Stoneham Theatre (now the Greater Boston Stage Company). Caitlin has directed over 50 productions on the East Coast, Chicago, and Colorado, including five world premieres. At Theatreworks, productions include A CHRISTMAS CAROL adapted by Murray Ross, ARCADIA by Tom Stoppard, one of multiple directors for a virtual production of Anna Deavere Smith's HOUSE ARREST, and COMEDY OF ERRORS as part of Theatreworks' Free-For-All community-based theatre program. Committed to diverse storytelling, Caitlin loves both new work and classic plays that explore social issues while creating a direct, physical connection with audiences.
